Hi all,

Wow these camps are amazing, we have both Braille and Boot Camp currently running. They are loads of fun. The only notch in the mix has been the heat but we have been drinking lots of water and have had plenty of swim time. Thanks for tuning in, Dave Klenk, Camp Tuhsmeheta.

Today was an action packed day of making milkshakes and canoeing. It was quite a hot one so the water was quite refreshing. The milkshakes were a perfect treat on such a warm day as well. For dinner the staff served a classy dinner dressed in their finest attire to the campers in gratitude of their hard work cooking all week. For the evening activity it was storytelling and let me tell you there were some very creative stories. Until next time Camp Tuhsmeheta out, Dave.

Well today was our cherry picking adventure! It was a blast. We have more cherries than we know what to do with. Tonight we are pitting the cherries and going to eat them as well as make pies later in the week. It is also backwards day so everyone is wearing their cloths backwards and we are eating meals backwards. Tonight for dinner is breakfast; we are having pancakes with biscuits and gravy. Until tomorrow, Camp Tuhsmeheta, Dave.

Hi folks,

Today was a great day for culinary camp, the campers learned how to use knifes and cut fruits and vegetables. It was quite an experience. It is always a pleasure to have young people learn and succeed at such a pace. Hey parents maybe the kids will cook some meals for you when they return home. All is well here we had a few thunderstorms but time was spent in the kitchen so it worked out well. Tomorrow is opposite day and there is a sense of excitement in the air because not only are we doing everything backwards, we are going cherry picking! Families enjoy your week and check back in tomorrow, from Camp Tuhsmeheta, goodnight, Dave.

Today is another action packed and fun filled day. So far we have practiced cabin cleaning skills and had our field day competition which included noise kick ball tug of war and a parachute toss! For lunch we are having fresh salad and chicken tenders. This afternoon will be gardening and PB and J making. Later tonight is dinner by the dock. It is a fun luau. Tomorrow is horseback riding, hotdogs at center isle and a movie before lights out. Some of the skills that have been taught so far are basket weaving, proper utensil usage and dining etiquette.

6/19/08 Elementary Camp
It has been a few days since we have been on but camp has been quite busy. Today we had guest firefighters come with their fire truck and demonstrate the proper way to extinguish a fire. Then we had V-Prod visit and film more for their documentary called "Can you see how I see". After all of that excitement we went for a nice cool swim. The water was perfect the campers had a blast. At dinner we were visited by a hotdog vendor who made delicious hotdogs with all the fixings. Finally we ended the night with a carnival. There was a moonwalk (inflatable trampoline) pie tossing, fortune telling and a raffle. We lowered the flag and went to get ready for bed. What a day!

Hi everybody! It's been awhile since we've updated, so here's what's going on.

I am back at college and having a great time. I work part-time for OUB, though, and one of the best parts about that is that I get to make awesome promo videos.

On October 9, Jackie and I will be in Greenville for a camp fair, promoting Camp T.

Harvest Fest is October 26-28, 2007. Come ready to scare the pants off everyone else!

Here is our Summer 2008 promo video (hopefully the first of many):

It is with a heavy heart but a joyous brain that I make this confession: This update today is our VERY LAST update for the summer! These two videos we have here today are the last update on the blog itself for Summer 2007! You can see the Finale Blog on Sunday, August 12, 2007 at the Camp Tuhsmeheta Final Concert. We will be showing the 18-minute finale blog at the luncheon, so make sure you get here early!

Our first video today is one we've been promising for awhile... yes, this is Callie's Adventure Trip update! It's wonderful, and I'm sorry it's taken us so long to get it to you. Enjoy!

And our second video features Ryan Edwards from LikeWater drumworks, who came from Chelsea to teach us about drumming. Everyone really enjoyed his classes and, as you'll see, the drums!

We'll see you all for the finale on Sunday!

We are having such a great time at Music Camp! Enjoy this...

Hi! It's been awhile since we've posted, so here's a video celebrating the Adventure Trip and Art Camp.

And we have cracked 4000 hits on YouTube - we're nearly sensations!

Thanks for reading. We'll see you in a couple of days for the music camp update.

Also, mark your calendars for the finale concert, Sunday August 12, when we'll be presenting the grand finale blog.

Prom was fantastic. We chose "At the Movies" as our theme, and white, red, and silver were our colors. White Pine was decorated beautifully, and the staff served a delicious dinner of chicken parmesan, green bean almondine, potatoes, and apple squares. There was a good deal of laughter over dinner.

Then we all came into the dining room and danced the night away. JJ was our DJ, playing such favorites as "Beautiful Girls," "Girlfriend," "Yolanda," and "YMCA."

Chelsea was crowned Prom Queen and Ozzie was crowned Prom King.

And Jackie and Tim were engaged!

Here's a prom video for you:

The rest of the summer is falling away from us. We're running art camp July 29-August 3, and then music camp August 3-August 12. On August 12, we will cap off the summer with the Camper Finale Concert, and the Grand Finale Blog will also be shown.

On Tuesday, August 7, Ryan Edwards and Likewater Drumworks are coming to visit us from Chelsea, MI. They will be holding a performance for us, starting at 7:00 p.m. at our campus. The performance is free and open to the public; all are welcome!

I am excited for things that are to come!

Hi there, faithful readers! I apologize that there were no blogs during Quest for Success, but several things occurred that made it impossible. First, the LiveJournal server in California was hit by a massive power outage and was down for several days, so we were unable to access the LiveJournal mainframe. Second, for the later part of the week, I was operating on a small wireless network close to my home, which also went down, so I was unable to access the Internet.

But I have some Quest for Success videos here for you.

Here's our Monday-night dance...

... and the Thursday-night Loony Olympics.

Coming later today, there will be the Prom video and text update, and some text comments on the rest of the summer. We're getting there, guys!

Sorry it's been so long since we've had an entry! To make up for it, I have five videos for your perusal today.

The first one is about playing Beep Baseball on Saturday night. The boot campers and drama campers teamed up to form the Wolves and the Tigers, and we had a mean game of baseball at the sports field. I wish I could tell you who won, but I honestly don't remember. This could possibly be because George dumped almost an entire cooler of water on me... those kinds of things tend to make a girl forget. What I DO know is that I am in love with Beep Baseball. Anyway... enjoy our film!

Our second film is actually from last Thursday. A professional voice and movement coach named Cammi came to visit us, and we learned all about movement and stage presence. One of the highlights of her visit was an extended dance session, where we all learned how to let our bodies be free. I have to admit, this one nearly made Jackie and I cry when we were watching it in post-production, so it's a winner.

Next we have two videos featuring our drama camp monologues from today's performance. Everyone put a lot of thought and time into their monologues, and it really showed.

And finally, like the frosting rose crowning our blog entry cake, we have a short film from the Camp T Secret Video Library... Yinka and I performing "The Moose Song" prior to starting the drama camp production.

I hope you enjoyed our video blogs for today! Drama camp and boot camp have both ended, and the boot campers are off to The Inland Seas in Traverse City, while we here at main camp are starting Quest for Success with the Michigan Commission for the Blind. It should be an interesting week for us all.

Also, I am pleased to announce that our video blog on YouTube has surpassed 3000 hits!! We are getting the word out about Camp T!

Thanks for reading!
